Catch the Summits
The 3 Peaks may dominate the headlines in the Yorkshire Dales but there is still room for some excellent fells round the edges. Some I actually enjoy more than the big 3 and the 20 selected for these walks all have share the same admirable characteristics and excellent views from their summit. All the summits involve a reasonable pull to reach and are therefore able to provide suitable smug satisfaction (or just relief) when the summit cairn is reached. Fair Snape Fell and the Calf may capture the imagination outside the official boundaries of the Dales but I will let you in to a little secret – Buckden Pike is my favourite.
