Down dales, over moors

Any walk of in the Yorkshire Dales will inevitably involve striding down one of its famous Dales and more than likely visiting some of the vast moorlands that dominate the upper slopes of the area. There are 30 walks which reflect the different characteristics of most of the dales and valleys but they also show the differing style of uplands; softer and greener in the limestone dales of the south but rougher and heathery to the north and in the Forest of Bowland. Most of the walks in this category are over 6 miles long and involve a good deal of effort to complete but the more effort that any of us put in the greater the rewards.
