The Yorkshire 3 Peaks – Hire a guide

Thousands of walkers take the 3 Peaks challenge of Yorkshire each year, not all succeed but many do. We are happy to offer a guiding service which will help you complete Pen y Ghent, Whernside and finally Ingleborough in the required time. The challenge  is to complete the walk in 12 hours and is roughly 24 miles in length and involves over 5,000 foot of climbing which is tough.

Our Guiding Service:

Some walkers will want to use a guide, some will not. The benefits of using a guide can really be broken down in to 3 main areas:

  • Route finding. Although there is an obvious track to follow it is quite possible to take a wrong turning if you are unsure of the route. Particularly if this is on one of the summits in cloud this could lead to a large wastage of time and more importantly energy you could certainly do without.
  • Confidence. A guide will ensure that the best decisions are made for the individuals and the group. They can also assess how quickly the party is going and whether it is likely to complete the challenge but also is fully prepared for any accident. All our guides are qualified Mountain Leaders & First Aid trained.
  • Good Company. There are many miles of easy walking and although the views are splendid it is nice to have the knowledge and company of someone who is very familiar with the area and can talk about climbing and walking in Yorkshire and beyond.

A guide for the day costs £180 for up to 8 people. If there is more than 8 people then a 2nd guide may be needed.
