3 Peaks Yorkshire in 3 Days

Whilst climbing the 3 Peaks of Yorkshire in a day is a worthy challenge it does mean that a full appreciation of each of the individual hills is not often undertaken. That is a shame because Pen y Ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside are all very worthy peaks and well worth climbing for their own sake.

Therefore we offer a long weekend of guided walks when each of the 3 peaks is tackled separately.

  • Day 1. Whernside. Starting at the beautiful viaduct at Ribblehead this walk takes in the highest (just) hill in Yorkshire. The walk is described in full by clicking here
  • Day 2. Ingleborough. In our opinion the best route up any Yorkshire mountain includes Gaping Gill on the climb from Clapham. The walk is described in full by clicking here
  • Day 3. Pen y Ghent. A fine route from Horton in Ribblesdale includes a short scramble near the summit and then a leisurely descent. The walk is described in full by clicking here

Each day/walk is likely to be 5 or 6 hours long and is taken at a leisurely pace with plenty of time to stop and admire the view or move off the beaten track to enjoy something different, an unusual site, something historical or just a better view.

Where to Stay: Although this guided holiday does not include any accommodation we are happy to help you choose where to stay and what would best suit your needs. All you need to do is turn up each day at the designated start point. In addition we do offer a Country Hotel package at the Eldon Country Hotel in the village of Long Preston (complete with two excellent country pubs)  – details of which you will find by clicking here

Your Guide: Our guides at Where2walk are all qualified Leaders with experience of taking different parties up the higher hills of Britain. They are also very knowledgeable about the Yorkshire Dales and hopefully good fun as well. They are also trained First Aiders but hopefully that will not be important!

Booking: The cost of the guiding is £40 per person per day  (Up to 10 persons per guide). Larger parties would include an extra guide.
