Silverdale is an attractive village well located on the shores of Morcambe Bay in the Arnside & Silverdale AONB. The temptation is to head straight for the shoreline and this I did, soon following the mix of beach and rock down to Jenny Brown’s Point (no idea who Jenny Brown is but she certainly picked a great spot with better than normal views). A rough path follows the beach on the cliff side often dipping to join the beach itself but I enjoy the scrambling on the rocks, reliving childhood holidays. The second half of the walk is through National Trust land, easy and pleasant at first but confusing as Silverdale is neared, the new sign posts have not helped. Persevere and the village soon appears.

Start Point:	SD461751. From the centre of Silverdale aim for the shoreline via the Cove Road.
Height to Climb:	45ms (148 feet)
Terrain:	There is an element of 'do it yourself' on this walk, a mix of beach walking and woodland paths.
Eating & Drinking:	The Silverdale Hotel is the obvious place to turn to
