A Classic Autumn Walk

Last Autumn I took to the fells over Derwentwater in what can only be described as classic Autumn weather. Even someone without much ability as a photographer was able to capture a rare selection of images on a walk I will never forget.

I have written this blog in a hope that it may inspire people to visit and walk in the Lakes, Dales or North York Moors over the Autumn months (the moorlands of Yorkshire have equally extraordinary colours in the lower sun) even though darkness is starting to fall earlier, temperatures are falling and for many there is a tendency just to retreat to the fireside.

The walk itself is from Little Town in the Newlands Valley near Keswick and takes in the Wainwright fells of Robinson, Hindscarth, Dale Head, Maiden Moor and Catbells but on a day such as this could have been done anywhere! . For the normal walk description with route details click here.

Up on the ridge of Robinson

A lovely little find, Dalehead Tarn

Each photo has not been enhanced in any way – the colours are what they were. Who could not want to be walking in this, perfect!
