The Cottage has been refurbished to a good standard with some high quality fittings yet retaining much of its original character. The Cottage lies near the centre of the lovely old market town of Kirkby Stephen which is a wonderful location to explore the surrounding area. There are many walks which suit all ages and abilities from short strolls along the embryonic River Eden to longer hill walks up Nine Standards Rigg and Wild Boar Fell. The town itself is attractive with many interesting shops and excellent places to eat including the award winning fish and chip shop (just opposite the Cottage) and a fine Indian Restaurant. Kirkby Stephen also lies on the famous Coast to Coast trail.
