The small villages of Clitheroe, Grindleton, West Bradford, Waddington, are idyllic and worth spending some time exploring. We nearly bought a house here but everything we looked at was either too small or too expensive! Each of the villages has its own character with pretty churches, local pubs and little streams vying for the ahh factor. Couple the villages with some very pleasant walking alongside the River Ribble and this became a thoroughly enjoyable walk.

Recommend: Walking between the villages is challenging only in that there are so many options; I suggest sticking to the river between Grindleton & West Bradford but cutting across the fields between West Bradford and Waddington, using the path that leaves the villages between the houses to the west in West Bradford and emerging near Waddington by the school.
