King George IV, Eskdale

December 1, 2014
  • Ideal location for all levels of walking.
  • Comfortable, dog friendly, Inn & rooms.
  • Open fire, 10 real ales & homemade food

The King George IV  is a traditional Lakeland pub that has been renovated in recent years without losing any of its original character. New beers have been introduced, a larger menu of quality and the rooms are now well presented and offer a choice of breakfast or self catering.

The hotel is perfectly  situated at the head of Eskdale with wonderful views from the gardens and within easy range of some of the best walks in the entire Lake District.A selection of my favourites are listed below.

Rooms: Both are double ensuite with bath and shower, tea and coffee and free wifi.

Self Catering: The Cabin, the Apartment and the Flat are also available for hire.

The owners also own The Barn nearby, a beautiful conversion for up to 12 people.
