Low Raisgill, Langstrothdale

January 14, 2016
  • Restored traditional farm cottage/stunning views
  • Perfect stopping point on the Dalesway
  • On The Pennine Journey and Wharfedale 3 Peaks

On the side of Hagg Beck nestling beneath Horsehead moor, Low Raisgill is a 17th century farm cottage situated in the timeless and unspoilt Langstrothdale. Visitors who rest a while here can enjoy the quietness of a landscape that has changed little over the years.

The cottage with its simple frontage provides surprisingly spacious accommodation and makes an ideal base for exploring and enjoying the area or for a refreshing night stop on one of the long distance walking paths.

During 2015 Low Raisgill has been renovated throughout with new bath and shower suites and with heating and hot water now being provided by a biomass boiler. Keith and Hazel have enjoyed the challenge of restoring some of the traditional features with a view to sharing them with visitors to the house.

Guests are welcome to enjoy the beautiful garden with extensive views over Yockenthwaite hay meadows and moor, the guest sitting room with TV and on colder evenings to sit by the log burner in the dining room. Wifi is available throughout the house.

Aga-cooked breakfasts include free-range eggs from our hens in the croft and home preserves. We can provide a lift to The George Inn, Hubberholme for evening meals.
