Martindale and Beda Fell Martindale is a quiet valley back of Ullswater. Beda Fell is the broad, low ridge to its west. Climb it and then enjoy the undulating ridge before returning via the valley floor. Causey Pike The distinctive summit knolls of Causey Pike can be seen from miles away. The steep climb though is hard. From the summit head over Scar Crags and Sail before returning over Outerside. The Walk I climbed Causey Pike just before the March Covid shut down. Barrow from Braithwaite The short, but rewarding, walk up Barrow from Braithwaite has excellent views. It offers a great vantage point for the Coledale Round and the spread north towards Blencathra and Skiddaw. The Walk 1,494 ft. Ard Crags above Newlands The climb along Ard Crags above Newlands is one of the finest and easiest ridge walks in the Lake District. The views are excellent and it feels a privilege to be there. However their are steep slopes at either end. The Walk 1860′. Gowbarrow via Aira Force The climb of Gowbarrow via Aira Force is highly enjoyable. Rannerdale Knotts Rannerdale Knotts is a small fell with a hidden secret. On the banks of Crummock Water the hill is prominent but hides a secret valley. Mellbreak and Crummock Water Mellbreak and Crummock Water sit side by side on the quiet side of the Buttermere valley. Many motorists pass on their way to valley end but few stop at the excellent pub and complete this walk. Muncaster Fell Muncaster Fell is the broad ridge to the west of lower Eskdale. Further west is the Ravenglass to Eskdale mini railway, to the east the lower level return. Seat Sandal from Grasmere At 2,415 feet the walk up Seat Sandal from Grasmere offers a steep but rewarding Lake District climb. In particular the hidden land towards Grisedale Tarn is ripe for exploration. 3 Rating: Moderate walk 5mi Distance: 5 miles / 8 km 655m Elevation: 655m / 2149ft
Whinlatter Whinlatter fell lies above Whinlatter forest. The simplest and best way of attaining the summit is to walk through the forest from the main car park.
