Walks in the extended YD National Park

January 5, 2016

The news (seemingly!) that the National Parks of the Lake District and more significantly the Yorkshire Dales will increase in size to support more areas of our lovely landscape is surely a benefit for all who live and visit the area.

Putting aside for a moment how this will be funded (lets not hold our breath for shiny new signposts and immaculate paths) the new areas include some delightful walks which will certainly enhance the area. Of course the walks have always been there but they will be more effectively promoted and preserved going forward.

I have walked many of these and take this as an excuse to outline 9 new walks which are be included within the National Park boundaries:

The ‘Other’ Borrowdale (Lakes)

Upper Borrowdale
