Arden Hall & Coombe Hill

  • A peaceful walk near Hawnby
  • Mix of woods, pasture and riverside walking
  • Enjoy the grounds of Arden Country House
Hawnby is a quiet village set in a very peaceful part of the North York Moors. Any walking from the village is only ever disturbed by pheasant, sheep and the possibility of a farm tractor. The woodland walking is interesting and the riverside section towards the end of the walk provides a lovely contrast to what has gone before. However I did particularly enjoy the splendid Arden Hall and its grounds and it is nice to be able to follow a recognized path and nor feel you are trespassing!
It is countryside to take time and look around, there are plenty of paths to follwow and surprises up many of them. The views over Hawnby Hill in good light are certainly enjoyable.
Recommend: Do not forget to visit Hawnby Church, one of the prettiest in the entire North York Moors
