Down dales, Over moors

Any walk in the Yorkshire Dales will inevitably involve a section along one of its famous Dales and more than likely a visit on to one of the vast moorlands that dominate the area between the dales. There are the best walks which reflect the different characteristics of the individual dales but they also showcase the differing style of uplands; softer and greener in the limestone dales of the south but rougher and heathery to the north. Most of the walks in this category are over 6 miles long and involve a good deal of effort to complete but the more effort that any of us put in the greater the rewards.
