Traditional Lakeland farmstead in a wonderful position in Borrowdale, with a wide range of walks from the door, from short walks to the lakeshore and river to full day hikes such as the Newlands Horseshoe. Plenty in between, including the famous Catbells, the path up which starts just next to the cottages! Guests all get out 12 self guided ‘Walks from the Door’ leaflets which we have written ourselves and which cover our favourite walks from Manesty. Scafell Pike from Seathwaite via the Corridor route can be reached by car or bus, as can Skiddaw.
A peaceful rural retreat, ideal for relaxing and recharging your batteries. Alan and Cheryl, the owners, have a wealth of local knowledge which they are very happy to share if you want them to! Alan grew up at Manesty and his family have lived here for over 150 years.
The accommodation is well appointed and cared for personally by Alan and Cheryl. Short weekend (Fri – Mon) and mid week (Mon – Fri) breaks are possible in some of the cottages all year around. Please do get in touch if you have any questions.
