Rivers & Dales

The vast plateau of the North York Moors are sliced open by deep valleys and dales, full of interest both for geographers and those interested in the workings of man.

There is much to explore in the dales, attractive small villages, farmland and old historical buildings are typical as are the hidden wooded glades which make them so appealing.

One of the best ways of exploring at least a few of the dales is via the Pickering to Whitby steam railway…try it.
