The Ambleside Backpackers is a fine old Lake District cottage with 10 dormitories of between 2 and 12 beds. There is a large comfy lounge, very good kitchen and dining room for guests to use. Other facilities include a drying room and laundry, good showers, free wifi and internet computer use.
Ambleside Backpackers is situated in Ambleside Village which has great shopping for outdoor gear, lots of pubs and restaurants with a great variety of cuisine. However the main benefit of staying in Ambleside is access from the door to many of the best fells and countryside in the Lake District including the Fairfield Horseshoe, the Langdales and the fells over Grasmere (see below for links to some of the best nearby walks.
