Guided Walks in the Lake District Mountains

Allow someone else to plan the best walks, take the anxiety out of map reading and join a group of like minded walkers on one of our Mountain Hikes with a Guide over some of the best Lake District mountains.

Saturday 6th July. Helvellyn via Striding Edge

Sunday 7th July. Blencathra via Hall’s Fell

Saturday 21st Sept. The Coledale Round

Sunday 22nd Sept. The Newlands Round

Each walk can be booked separately or combined in to 2 weekend breaks.

Helvellyn via Striding Edge. 7 miles

  • Start at Glenridding on Ullswater
  • Climb via Striding Edge, descent via Swirral Edge
  • Helvellyn is the second highest mountain in England
  • Regularly voted England’s best walk

Blencathra via Hall’s Fell. 6 miles

  • Start at Threlkeld village
  • Climb via Hall’s Fell, a minor scramble
  • Optional return via the rarely visited Wainwright, Mungrisedale Common
  • “The best route up the best mountain in the Lakes”. My Quote!

The Coledale Round 11.5 miles

  • Start in the pretty village of Braithwaite
  • Includes 7 Wainwrights including Grasmoor
  • Beautiful views over Newlands and Buttermere
  • Ridge to Whiteside is spectacular

The Newlands Round 10 miles

  • Start at Little Town in the Newlands Valley
  • Sandwiched between Derwentwater and Buttermere
  • Includes 6 Wainwrights including Dale Head & Hindscarth
  • One of Wainwrights favourite walks

These walks are ideal for those who want to take on some of the bigger Lake District walks including the highest mountain in England.

A good level of fitness is required as is a good head for heights (particularly if you choose the Helvellyn climb).

The walks are all based in the north of the Lake District so with a car Keswick is best. However each walk starts from one of the smaller villages.

Helvellyn: Glenridding

Blencathra: Threlkeld

Coledale Horseshoe: Braithwaite

Newlands Round: Little town
