A new stand alone website on the Dales 30 Mountains has been launched, bringing together all the information that I have dotted around the Where2walk website. New features include a section where you can log ‘My Walks’ and your own details of the walks.
You can find the new website here
The Dales 30 are the 30 Mountains within the Yorkshire Dales National Park Boundary which are over 2,000ft high and have a relative height (the highest col) of 30m. They are spread around the Dales and offer an opportunity to visit many of the less busy areas as well as the challenge of the individual climbs.
Each individual mountain is described with my own personal view (watch out for the one on Yockenthwaite Moor!). Everyone has their favourites but mine tend to be towards the remote Howgills and Mallerstang.

The routes up each individual mountain are described using words, sketch maps or a free to download GPX file. My Favourite Route is first shown but I have included alternatives as well. Each route may include just the single mountain but also the best combination with others! Even Simon Fell can be easily climbed without including Ingleborough.

You can now safely log in to your own section of the website where you can log your own walks (My Dales 30). For each mountain you can add a photo , log the date, companions, weather details and any other information. It also gives a running total of all that you have climbed.

Over the year we hold a number of mini breaks which I lead as a guide. They are either Dales 30 Weekenders held in less visited parts of the Dales or the 3 Peaks in 3 Days where the climb of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks is spread over 3 days and enjoyed.

What to do after completing the Dales 30? Aside from repeating the mountains via different routes you could look at some of the smaller hills in the area. I am building up these asthe ‘Good Little-Uns’ part of the website.
