New Ing Lodge is a relaxed and very friendly guest house in Shap which offers a choice of bed and breakfast accommodation, both small rooms and larger dormitories and there is also some camping pitches on request. The owners are rightly proud of their Green credentials and have recently installed a Carbon Neutral Wood Pellet Boiler. Shap is situated high up on the fringes of the Lake District with some excellent walking from the door in to the eastern lakes whilst at the same time the Cumbrian Pennines and Yorkshire Dales are close by.
New Ing lies on the Coast to Coast and Westmoreland Way long distance paths and is an ideal stop for anyone passing through, I should know as I did!
