£115.00

A 3 day walking holiday on the idyllic Northumberland Coast

Description

Walk the stunning Northumberland Coast from Alnmouth to Berwick over 4 days.

Accompanied by a local walking guide and a small group.

The Northumberland Coast has the most dramatic and interesting coastline in England. The beaches are glorious (long sweeping expanses of golden sands), the attractive fishing villages full of interest and interspersed with castles reflecting the long and fascinating history of Northumberland. It is also a wildlife heaven, particularly with regard to the variety of sea birds.

The Highlights Include

  • Five imposing castles – Berwick-upon-Tweed, Lindisfarne, Bamburgh and Dunstanburgh.
  • Ten attractive, coastal villages – Alnmouth, Boulmer, Craster, Embleton, Newton by the Sea, Beadnell, Seahouses, Bamburgh, Belford finishing in the town of Berwick
  • Explore the history and heritage of the area
  • Day after day of sands, cliffs and lovely coastal walking
  • Choice of coastal inns, local guest houses or self catering
  • Spend a night on Holy Island

Most of the walking is along the English Coastal Path (a mix of sand, dunes and coastal paths) and is straightforward. On this holiday there is 4 days walking (from Alnmouth to Berwick) in the company of myself and a small group of fellow walkers (no more than 10).
