Spread Eagle

April 4, 2014
  • Splendid situation on the River Ribble
  • Country Inn of great character
  • Overlooked by Pendle Hill

Lying between the River Ribble and the ruins of a Cistercian Abbey is the Spread Eagle, an attractive coaching inn with an excellent reputation for good wholesome food and a fine selection of beers. Inside the flagged floors and wooden beers create a cosy atmosphere for walkers and others returning from a day out whilst the rooms are individually decorated to a very high standard. I really like the atmosphere here.
