The Langdale Pikes The climb over the Langdale Pikes is really a right of passage to the higher Lakeland Fells. The rocky paths and landscape make for a slow day and the lack of height not noticeable and little help! It is memorable. The Walk Deservedly one of the most popular walks in the Lakes. It is worth 5 Rating: Difficult walk 6mi Distance: 6 miles / 9.6 km 624m Elevation: 624m / 2047ft
Raise, Helvellyn and Striding Edge Helvellyn and Striding Edge is one of the must do walks in the Lake District but a return by the more rounded Raise adds much to the day and is a relaxed way to descend. The Martindale Round The Martindale Round is a Lakeland walk over excellent fells which is rarely done. Starting near Howtown the route covers Angletarn Crags and the lesser spotted Beda Fell, Rest Dodd and the Nab. Wastwater Screes The views when you walk on the ridge above the Wastwater Screes are some of the best in the lakes. Two Wainwrights sit astride the wide ridge. Even 5 Rating: Difficult walk 9mi Distance: 9 miles / 14.4 km 692m Elevation: 692m / 2270ft
Helvellyn from Thirlmere The steep climb of Helvellyn from Thirlmere avoids all the danger (and excitement) of the more popular eastern approaches.
