High Stile over Buttermere The High Stile ridge walk is definitely one of the tougher walks in the Lake District. The mileage is not big but the steep climb and rough, rocky paths make for a satisfying day . The Other Borrowdale The ‘Other’ Borrowdale is situated near Tebay on the M6 (sounds great!). However the walk goes through a unspoilt valley and returns via the rolling countryside on its north side. From Arnside to Silverdale A pretty coastal walk from Arnside to Silverdale with a return inland. West of Ennerdale West of Ennerdale is some quiet lands and small fells making for a very pleasant half day walk. The shores of Thirlmere The walk along the eastern shores of Thirlmere initially sticks close to the lake. It is an unusual path.
