Arkengarthdale and Low Reeth Moor The walk up Arkengarthdale and Low Reeth Moor starts at Reeth. From the village continue alongside Arkle Beck to Arkle Town. At this hamlet climb on to the moors and enjoy some great views over Swaledale on the return. Exploring Hebden Beck Hebden Beck winds its way down from Grassington Moor past the remains of the 19th century lead mining industry. There is much to see alongside the beck as there is on the return over Tinkers Lane. Here the wide ranging views of Wharfedale take centre stage. Waterfalls above Askrigg There is a beautiful series of waterfalls above Askrigg. A short wooded walks climbs the slopes above the village. Return via the farm lane which has lovely views across Wensleydale. The Walk I found that there are three distinct stages on this walk to the waterfalls above Askrigg. Aysgarth Falls Aysgarth Falls is a series of three waterfalls (Upper, Mid, Lower) on the River Ure in Wensleydale. The walk along the river is set in pretty woodland. However there are access points to the waters themselves at both the Upper Lower and Upper Falls, a viewing platform for the Middle falls. Bentham Riverside Walk The Bentham riverside walk is a pleasant stroll linking High and Lo Bentham. There are some glimpses of Ingleborough and the countryside is excellent. Walk in Arkengarthdale Langthwaite is the start of a walk in Arkengarthdale which leads to the pretty hamlet of Whaw. The riverside walking is pleasant, particularly on the east bank of Arkle Beck. Darley and Dacre Banks Darley and Dacre Banks occupy a pretty section of the Lower Nidd south of Pateley Bridge. The walk starts alongside the river on a well walked track before returning inland with great views across the valley. Cataracts of the Strid The River Wharfe narrows up from Bolton Abbey to produce the cataracts of the Strid. The cataracts are the highlight of a delightful walk through the woods of the estate. Richmond to Easby Abbey This is a highly enjoyable short walk along the River Swale to Easby Abbey. The route follows the Old Railway to a bridge over the River Swale before returning along a riverside path. Following the walk spend some time in Richmond, its shops, pubs and impressive castle.
